Very good your thumb rule. I got the insider 103 long (39170) with digital controllable pantographs. A real funny function. Driving over the layout and sending Morse codes via the pantographs to everybody.
So I am looking forward to get my next insider loco (the shunting croco 39567) with one digital controlled pantograph and e.g. a digital controlled new telex coupler. Probabely superb.
Probabely nothing for you. I looked in the internet and found a new loco for you with no digital functions: LILLABO
.
http://www.ikea.com/de/d...categories/series/11673/
Very nice (and cheap) offers
https://www.amazon.de/Ho...n-massiver/dp/B00SRI954O
or on ebay
https://www.ebay-kleinan...holzeisenbahn-ikea/k0c23
What do you think? No functions - no chances - no fun
I have no problems testing new functions, find and use improvements.

- The Re 6/6 announced is in Xrail livery
Seeing that I already have the Re 620 X-Rail from Roco, I am not sure that I would order a Maerklin version.
What I would like to see is one of the following variants:
Re 6/6 11605-11613: These few locomotives were the ones that were assigned to passenger operations between 1999 and 2002 when SBB split into Passenger and Cargo divisions.
I would also like to see a red or green Re 6/6 in Era VI with the new UIC markings and air conditioning (Cargo). Regarding models with the rectangular halogen headlights, Maerklin has so far released only models of the Re(f) 6/6 modification, which was a temporary modification to 30 units of the fleet between 2000 and 2003.
This means that other than 37321, there is no model that would be prototypical for the post 2003 period.
37320: Green Round lights (1975-1998) - Some loks remain like this, but have received UIC handrails and other modifications since
37321: Cargo - SBB Cargo (2000-)
37322 Red - Rectangular lights Re(f) (2000-2003)(SBB Cargo)
37323: see 37320
37324 Green - Rectangular lights Re(f) (2000-2003) (SBB Cargo)
37325: Red - Round lights (1985-1998) - See 37320 comment

Thanks Alan. I understood grapevine, but BD writes ON and Marvin Gaye sings THROUGH the grapevine. This is for me a significant difference. In German I use this idiom as well but I using the translation of "through". Can it be in English, you may use both of them?

I noticed mention of the possibility of a new American locomotive. I’ll put in my tuppence worth. How about a cab forward. A bought a used Riverossi several years ago hoping it could be converted to three rail and a chip. Unfortunately it was a no go for the conversation.
Now it sits in my office on display.

Same thing goes for the BLS Vectron, those who wanted one probably already got one from either Piko or Roco.
Altrough the BLS Vectron isn't a unique model at least.

Thank you very much, also for this link to this dictionary. Very helpful. Thanks BD.
I assumed something as it occurs now: another difference in English to English.
Very interesting this sentence: "During the American Civil War, the telegraph system was used to communicate propaganda and false information, ..." So I know now too, fake news are already over 150 years old and not due to the internet.
Thanks again for helping. And I will look forward what will come true form all this "grapevines".
One thing I can tell you for sure: the toy fair in Nuernberg will last from January 31st to February 4th, 2018.
https://www.spielwarenmesse.de/
And before, we all get informed about Maerklin's updates.

Indeed. Back around 1917 era, all of the telegraph lines from Europe ran through England to get to North America, so the English, being resourceful, generated their on propaganda (and blocked transmissions) of data from mainland Europe to ensure the US might side with Britain in WW1. Fake news is indeed not a new phenomenon.

Yah, its us Yanks fault right? Who are the folks that constantly pronounce an 'R' in words that don't have an 'R' in them?
Who screwed up "football" by coming up with a new word for it, 'soccer', and then going with 'football'.
Who has two completely contradictory definitions for a word: chuffed?

Almost Sankch, almost, because steventrain wrote only "Friday 13:00"! But which Friday?
Friday 12th? 19th? 26th?.
Please tell me when and I tell you the servers got another chance!
The toy fair in Nuernberg starts January 31st this year.
And all we know for sure, Maerklin issues its news for the fair before it starts and not afterwards.

Hi all,
A book entitled The Victorian Internet by Tom Standage, first published in 1998, is still available.
The version in Australia has ISBN:9781620405925, it is likely a different number elsewhere.
The original was ISBN: 0802713424.

haha the TGV thing is making us growing more curious... So... It will be the Duplex or the TGV old style?
Ep. III (My layout is set in 1962).
I collect mainly DSB, DB and SBB but I'm quite... Open minded.
I'm quite a big collector of NOHAB lok :)

Sorry to break anybody's bubble, but as far as I understood, the reference to TGV was not in regard to a new TGV model, but to the model of the SNCB Class 55 rescue diesel which is used on the High Speed Lines in cases where a TGV requires assistance. At least one class 55 (5509) has been equipped with special TGV compatible couplings (Scharfenberg), as seen here (According to Wikipedia, 5501, 5506, 5509, 5511, 5512 and 5514 have TVM signalling and this special coupler):

We should have confirmation in less than 24 hours

No, I saw the pricelist for next year and it's clearly stated "TGV Duplex World Record 2007" €439,-

BR44 Double pack is confirmed as 30470, with retro DSB and DB versions of the BR44 in retro blue boxes.

Dang, I've been hanging out for a 30470 for years, and they have to go issue a double pack, which makes it twice as expensive! - 579.99 €
