Hello All !
I have a Marklin BR24 Loc. (3003) With Delta decoder (70117B WITH 4 Dip switches - configured with digital address 24) – Picture includeded-, and have a lot of problem to operate it using my Uhelnbrock IB-Com with Rocrail.
Would appreciate to receive any advice / recommendations / help /Manuals or any tips from those who have experience ,- how to convert this Loc. With a standard Motorola Format Loc. Decoder (esu lokpilot or any other company that will feet in the Loc.)

Regards
Itzik

Hi Itzik

A good option for 3003 loco with a value around 50 Euro is the use of a cheap combination of motor decoder.

There is no kit available so you have to use the 60943 motor kit (SFCM) and a decoder of your taste. Any decoder will do the job with the DC motor. You can use the basic fx Marklin decoder from the 60760 kit and you will have the motor 60941 from the kit to use in another conversion.

Or you can use an ESU Lokpilot4 or any other.

Regards

Costas

Hi,

I agree - using a 60943 motor and a decoder from the 60760 kit is a good option.
I have converted two of mine (3003 locomotives) using the above kits and they run very well on the layout.

I think changing the decoder type is unlikely to solve the problem unless the existing decoder itself is faulty.

  • What problems are you having?

  • Are other locos working OK?

  • Is the IB set to the correct Motorola protocol for address 24?

Hi Costas, John & Dale
First - Costas & John - thanks for your advice - I will definitely check your advice. from your experience - how difficult is making the change ?
is the kit come with details manual ??

and Dale - finally after investigation - I solve my problems just a hour ago !
incorrect configuration of dip switch address (must put my glass next time... Confused ) and a short circuit in one of rail feeder.

Loco now working BigGrin (not smooth as my new one)

Thank's
