Does anyone know how to gain access to and lubricate the running gear of a BR80 loco? It's been in its box for about ten years so I think it should be lubricated before trying to run it.
Thanks

Hi,

There are several versions of the BR80. The older one has three screws. Two near the cylinders and one in the middle under the rear. Compare the three holes in this picture:

After loosing the screws you can remove the body.

Newer locos have only two screws. Both in the center of the frame, one in the front, one in the back. The screws hold just a plate which covers the gears.

Regards

Markus

Hi Marcus
Thanks for your help. I have identified the relevant screws and removed the cover. Seems very clear now!
