It is a fictitious paint scheme. I don't know when the E93 started service but there are still some running currently under private operators.

This loco would have worn a grey livery in the war years, so a black version could represent those dark days if you were so inclined.

As Alan has pointed out, it's fictitious so there is no Era specified.

Hi Alan,

Don't mismatch the E93 with the E94 which looks very similar. None of the three surviving E93 is in operational condition. The E93 007 (193 007) is owned by the DB-museum and shown in Coblenz (Koblenz). ...008 is shown as a memorial near the Neckarwestheim power plant. The third one ...012 is in bad condition and stored at Ettlingen (not accessible for the public).

Regards

Markus

That black paint finish is really nice. I saw a Croc in black a while back, that too looked really sharp. Something about black that is really appealing!

Marklin is doing its best to bankrupt me this year. My favourite loco is the E94 and E93. I have every HO version produced so far. So what have they done E94 in New Items, 37871 and the infotag E94. Cool

That is the Infotage loco, that and the wagon above it on the same page are only available if you attend a store where a Marklin representative is having an Information Day (Infotage). It is only available on the day, and the Marklin representative brings the stock with him, and takes back any unsold stock at the end of the day.

Neither it or the wagon is an orderable item.

The PDF document that you can download from that same page gives the list of shops that are having Infotage days between january and Easter. Unfortunately they are all in Germany. I am not aware of any Infotage days ever being held outside Germany, even the seminars I have attended at Gaugemaster in the UK didn't seem to be considered an Infotage.

I purchased the sondermodelle E94 a couple of years ago, and although a fantasy livery I think the colour and finish worked well, and I am pleased with my version. If the E93 is to the same standard, I think German croc fans will be pleased;

There are info days in Switzerland as well. And last year I recognized Märklin started info days in France too. I attended one of these days in Nuernberg and Schweinfurt. Indeed, it was very helpful talking to an Maerklin employee about the CS 2 (was the only one at these days). Because at these meetings are not very much people around and this Maerklin guy carrying a portable, small C-track layout (nevertheless the layout has two track circuits, signals, several turnouts, etc.!) by himself. You have time talking to him and he directly demonstrate his answers at the layout.

At this schedule for info days between February and April 2017, I see March, 2nd 2017 "Joes Modellbahnlaedle" is participating in these info days. So it can order these white models for the info days and Joes has also a very good internet shop. I bought there already some stuff and can recommend it. Also, if I asked questions per e-mail, Mr. Diez (the shop owner) answered them very fast.

Have a look here - e.g. you still can order the black E 94 2015 (art.# 37229) at his shop.

http://joes-modellbahnla...15f08b03b/Products/37229

Write him an e-mail and ask if you can buy a white E 94 (art# 39226 - not listed in Maerklin's database), if you want one.

What surprised me was that the brochures pictured are in English - and they include the euro prices! Confused Confused Confused

Normally the only way to get the Euro price is to get the German edition (can't speak for other languages from the Euro area, they may also have Euro prices) and the English version has no prices at all.

I can imagine that Maerklin is really acting as you describe. But I question myself, does Maerklin wants to do sales or annoy their customer?Sneaky

I suspect it is a way for the factory bosses to know how many people are actually attending the Infotage, by counting how many items they sell. It also adds to the exclusivity of them.

They have also tightened up on the supply of museum wagons in the last three or four years. You can now only get them at th museum at the advertised price. Any you see dealers selling are at museum price +10% minimum, which suggests they get to buy them at the museum price instead of the normal discount from retail.

One sold on ebay.de on November 25 for € 585.15, one sold on ebay.de on February 2 for € 499.00.

Difficult to determine the value when only few sales occur.

Tom

The reproduction 30390 and 40850 - Marklin said both may be sold out at the factory very soon.

But you can order it quick before no more in few days or week time I think so.
