I have been having some trouble coupling some of my earlier couplings together. Yesterday I just realized i must have some time ago, lowered the couplings on a lot of my older carriages so they would couple with the latest close couplers. This has now been the cause of my problem because quite a few of the older ones have not been adjusted, and hence they wont couple with the close coupler.
Has any one else found this problem and if so, what is their solution.

Yep. I got rid of the Relex coupler wherever this was possible.
When mixing Relex and Close Coupler I make sure the loop from the Close Coupler goes into the Relex coupler.

Hi Tom. I guess that means lowering the relex to suit the close couplers and nipping off a bit of the uncoupling stem. Probably also means I will have to have certain wagons with one end left alone so it couples with the standard hook on the wee locos like the 3000, 3080 3078 etc.

I lift the car with the close coupler a little bit when needed to make sure the loop goes over the hook of the Relex coupler.
I do not nip anything off nor do I bend anything.

This does not work for shunting operations with uncoupler tracks or Telex couplers.
