It's a shame the SNCB 18 has not got MFX+ cab sim? Has it ?? As this loco livery has been done already? Still it's on my wish list:-)

The important point is: new motor!
Good bye, maintenance-friendly motor - another model with maintenance-free motor.

Azackly. "Yes I know what I want and I know where to get it": eBay, clearance sales and such.

Show me the 601460 on the spare parts list afore I place my order.

I fully concur with Tom: I do not trust these new cheap toy motors at all. Eventually, all could go dead, and we will be left with a collection of shelf queens.

SB-Modellbau will have a kit to remotor it to a Maxon if it becomes necessary. Like others here, I thought about buying spare motors, but which ones may or may not die? A crap shoot at best. A lot of money tied up and no way to know if you made the right choices, if you need any at all.

I've now remotored about 20 lokos and they run even better than the sinus drives, both original and the later compact drive. A high quality motor and current motor regulation technology has surpassed the old sinus drive.

Sometimes you need to look for the Trix equivalent, but they are mostly all there. http://www.sb-modellbau.com
Matt
Era 3
DB lokos, coaches and freight cars from across Europe
But I do have the obligatory (six) SBB Krocs
ECoS 50200, all FX and MFX decoders replaced with ESU V4s, operated in DCC-RailCom+ with ABC brake control.
With the exception of the passenger wagens with Marklin current conducting couplers, all close couplers have been replaced with Roco 40397.

Are the servo controlled paragraphs on the new 1-Gauge 5518* models a first?

Addendum:
No , apparantly last years E60s had something similar (albeit only one panto)

So where did you get your copy of the NI brochure? Are you a dealer?

The elephant look great RollEyes , but seems too much expensive for what it is ThumbDown . It doesn't have telex and only one axle is driven (although this seems to be the new fashion in M* steamers Sad ).
I like it a lot but I am not decided for it unless I find a reasonable price (400 euros). At least for 450 it is already announced in some dealers.
In my decision to buy it or not will also be present the location where it is made. If it is in China I need to wait 1 or 2 years to understand if the owners find everything is positive. After had the new Nohab experience I learned the lesson.

Relative to the VT11.5 I don't know if it has interior light in the end cars/locomotives. I mean both in the passengers compartment and in the driver compartment.
Anyway it is very expensive and I will most probably not buy it, but instead will retrofit light in my old VT11.5. Despite these, I still think it is one great model of Märklin, and I really mean one of the best!

So at the moment I have the retro croc on order and will go to the Insider. The Elephant is pending decision.
Best regards,
Miguel

Is there any info on what is contained in the C Track expansion set?

Maybe a set with the new R4 points?

The elephant is soooooo tempting. I only hesitate as I have a perfectly good pair of roco versions, one with coal tender and one with oil tender. Of course I prefer marklin though. Also, I've spent time underneath the prototype at the Swiss transport Museum!

While the engine is great, the car set seems really boring and expensive!? 120 euros is not worth it for those cars..

Hi all,

Märklin's main competitors have all published their news brochures, so I think it's a silly and outdated policy on the part of the Märklin company to release a few bits of information without showing us all the new items. The online version must be ready by now; if it isn't, then this is one thing that the new owners should change. I'm sure that most Märklin customers would appreciate ...

Best regards,
Mark

I like Märklin items produced in the 1960s or early '70s, but also digital locos & current rolling stock.

Hello again,

Now about the BR10 37085. It is very good that the interior of the cab was rebuilt so now it is much more like the real one was.
It is also good that the tender spacing is improved. It is bad that we don't know exactly what motor it has and I don't understand
why the new tooling doesn't have cabin light...
At least the model was (is being) improved and that is off course positive. Just with few more effort, it could be more improved.

Best regards,
Miguel

After VW's scandal, M* must probably be tuning the accuracy of the specifications of the NI brochure LOL

Edit: Just kidding. I don't compare VW's behavior to anything about our favorite brand :)

"Three light peak signal"?
Is this the official M* translation or is this translation coming from a web shop?
Normally called "triple headlights" in older brochures.

Tom

Does anybody have any good suggestions about what CIWL coaches (say Rivarossi or LSM) would look good to reproduce a Calais to Italy Express train from Era I or Era II?

The new official language variations we have to adapt to are Google English & MS Bing English and then we must have some added linguistic imagination to understand these fully... BigGrin

Better to use some "lousy" English translation than some other obscure language in this forum, I think - Even if it may be incomplete with some few parts "lost in translation". Smile

Now we are waiting for pics or a dealer pdf catalogue link to see all the new 2016 items. Will come within a few days, I'm sure...

I think the operative focus is around the "Digitale"

Also they use the term "D2" which appears to represent a variant of the C* designation.

My guess is that it is part of a new range of 2480* "D*" expansion sets that run parallel to the 2490* "C*" sets but With the inclusion of motors and decoder(s)
Thus the 24802 = 24902 plus digital components

If so and the decoder(s) are 74461's and not 60831's then I predict that the sales numbers will be close to zero.

P.S. Whoever in Marklin is managing this piecemeal announcement should be shot.
