Hi Benny - sorry a typo in the original post - I will amend it. It is a nice wagon, brought thru eBay and will be one of the first wagons we weather once our ordered washes arrive. Interesting point is that the undersides strikes the turnout lanterns as fitted to out turnouts, both C & K Turnouts. Regards Tony |

Mike, I knew that the correct Loco was the Re4/4 II, Could not get a Hag one for now. Maybe later. MAny of the stores that had them listed never had one in stock and did not know when they could get one. None at the factory about 3 weeks ago. Also I wanted the HAG Nev

That's roughly what I paid for mine in the end I think - bought them from Lackylok on ebay. How on earth did you get a bargain from Gaugemaster? :D
Thinking of ordering a 4257 steuerwagen next month, before they go out of stock as Marklin have ceased production. Only thing I can't decide is whether to buy this one or wait for the new longer silberlinge to be released and buy that version instead. At the moment 4257 is winning as I already have 4256/58/59. |

Just got my set of Rheingold coaches. Here are a few pix: [image]http://www.sem-co.com/~rschaffr/trains/Rheingold/rheingold1.jpg[/image] I am pulling it (for now) with my venerable cream/blue E111 (3042) I added the 43951 half baggage car just because I wanted to. [image]http://www.sem-co.com/~rschaffr/trains/Rheingold/rheingold2.jpg[/image] [image]http://www.sem-co.com/~rschaffr/trains/Rheingold/rheingold3.jpg[/image] [image]http://www.sem-co.com/~rschaffr/trains/Rheingold/rheingold4.jpg[/image] [image]http://www.sem-co.com/~rschaffr/trains/Rheingold/rheingold5.jpg[/image] [image]http://www.sem-co.com/~rschaffr/trains/Rheingold/rheingold6.jpg[/image] Nw I have to add lights, people and current conducting couplers to it. |

I also have a couple of the Trix Rheingold coaches that fit between those two eras - the post war one with the skirted coaches. Must get around to tracking down the other two or three I need to complete the set. |

Most of my cars are freight cars, but I have about 12 coaches. I do wish Marklin would come out with some coaches to go with my NYC PA-1. |

The Rheingold cars use 73400 lighting boards with the matching sliders/earth grids if I remember rightly. Mine are on the to do list behind the TEE stock and the Apfelpfeil set.
Just bought 4093 and 4094 from ebay Germany. Both are in the experimental POP livery. |

Matt, I am using the LED Boards and a CCC, so only one Slider and Earth Grids on each Coach. like Ron, I only had 2 sets of Boards. waiting on some more to complete the set. I have done the Compartment Car and the Observation Car. Will take a Photo tonight.

They are the 73400 kits. Most of the long coaches take two kits. I only used one in the half baggage car since I didn't see the need to light the baggage compartment. I use RTS close couplers and run the lights for the lok (no sliders on the coaches). They are controlled by a relay in the lok so I can turn them on and off as desired. |

Thanks for the welcomes. I would be open to some other brand of NYC coaches, but from a quick look so far I have not found any Euro-brand coaches that would work -- and don't yet know enough about the other HO manufacturers to know what would go well with the Marklin loco. |

Walthers make some absolutely superb coaches, only problem with them is that they won't tolerate sharp curves. |

Hi Nev and Ron, Thanks for the great pictures on your latest coach acquisitions. I also got a 43850 blue and beige compartment car, to go with my 42990/42991 Rheingold set. Unfortunately it is a different length, but I guess that does't matter too much. Anyway, thanks again. regards Kimball |
