Morning All,

For those that are interested I just received this reply from Noel at Nathan's Trains & Toys (Australian Distributer) with the response he got from the "Big M"

Quote:
Dear Noel,

Yes this program ist still active. Please state “exchange program 60173 for 60174” when returning the old boosters.

TGIF!

Dagmar

I should have gone straight to him in the first place as when I contacted 2 of the so called NSW agents they made NO attempt to sort out the matter for me.

And a bit of a plug for Noel and Nathan's Trains N Toys,

www.trainsntoys.com.au

If your in Australia their prices are "far better" than any of the other "dealers" I have attempted to buy from in the past. I got a couple of wagon sets from them last year for peanuts.

Please check them out BigGrin

Have a great weekend All

to put your comment into perspective, any dealer will help you if you have either a.) bought the item from the dealer b.) have previously bought stuff and c.) you are known to the dealer and doesn't mind doing you a favour.

John,

I didn't go into the full details but the other 2 dealers I referred to I have spent in the past over $2k with 1 and around $700 with the other as opposed to $250 with Noel.

So in fact he was the one with the least amount of money spent AND the least previous contact/dealings.

And as to the '173's in question they were sent to me by my (now deceased) uncle in Germany about 2 1/2 years ago, so they weren't even purchased in Oz.

Yes mate, but this is more a case of informing those that are interested and unaware (as I was and there was no definatave answer in the other thread of mine https://www.marklin-user...0173-power-supplies.aspx although very helpful otherwise) that it is still going, after all the last post in that thread was #66 Posted : 25 June 2011 12:21:29 Smile

Struth, our Aussie Post is out of control.

AU $92.25 to send 2 x '173's back to the Fatherland. Only 1.6Kg in a B4 box.

Could get a Mega Starter set sent out here from the EU for that sort of money, maybe less?

Yippie, BigGrin

After only 6 and a bit weeks (and a lot of confusion over who did and didn't have my 60173's Confused ) in todays parcel from the Fatherland I now have in my hot little hands two brand new 60714 Boosters.

Go to say its bloody brilliant of Marklin to be still running this exchange program after a couple of years.

I'm a happy camper BigGrin Drool

Was well worth the AU $92.25 it cost to send them back.
