I have a ESU 50200 command station and presently have two locos running. The Marklin NYCentral loco diesel (29576) runs fine with all sounds operational. However, I cannot seem to find the PRR 37624 diesel in the database of locos on ESU and therefore not all of the digital sound functions are operational. I have tried several different choices but none are quite the right one. There is no listing for a 37624 loco on the database. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Most likely the 37624 was produced after the Ecos database was last updated, so does not appear in the database. After Marklin and ESU parted company over their collaboration, the Ecos database stopped being updated - no information updates provided by Marklin.

The best thing for you to do is to pick another loco that is in the database that has similar functions to your loco, and use that as a basis to define the settings for your loco.

It's an MFX decoder right? Didn't the ECoS auto register it?
Matt
Era 3
DB lokos, coaches and freight cars from across Europe
But I do have the obligatory (six) SBB Krocs
ECoS 50200, all FX and MFX decoders replaced with ESU V4s, operated in DCC-RailCom+ with ABC brake control.
With the exception of the passenger wagens with Marklin current conducting couplers, all close couplers have been replaced with Roco 40397.

Correct!

I was operating under the assumption that the loco has a FX decoder. As Matt points out, the mFX decoder should register with your Ecos (I assume the Ecos is up to date software wise?)

Yes, its FX decoder. Somehow, when I have the loco on the track and try to find it manually, it just says, no loco on track. There are some similar ones that have some of the functions, but not the bell and sqealing brakes, etc. Just the basic light, horns, and engine sound. I did have it at one time, but have not lost it and don't know how to get all the functions back.

Do you know the loco's address?

You can then set it up as I previously explained. If there are then missing functions, these can be added by editing the loco parameters in the Ecos. You can also select an icon to suit the function.

Check the Ecos manual for details on how to do that.

If the loco has an FX decoder, you will only be able to define 4 functions plus the lights, so it shouldn't be too hard to do that. Check the loco's manual which will list what the functions are.

I found this on a previous post on locos reviews :Märklin 37624 - F7 Pennsylvania
37624 F7 A-B-A Pennsylvania.

Lenght - 520 mm.
Sounds - Diesel operating sounds, horn, bell, letting off air, squealing brakes off.
Decoder + Motor = MFX with high-efficiency propulsion.
Detailment - No Issue on C-tracks.
Childen? - Age 14 and over.
Coupling? - Hook in front and rear. Can be changed with NEM or snowplows with hooks.
Headlight? - 1 in front with lighted numbersigns.
Loco body - Metal.
6021 address coding - 07.
60212/3 Name at factory - F 7 #9654.
Traction Tyres? - Eight.

Functions
F0 Headlights and signboards front.
F1 Sound effect: Short Horn.
F2 Operating sounds.
F3 Sound effect: Horn.
F4 ABV.
F5 Sound effect: Squealing brakes off
F6 Sound effect: Letting off air
F7 Sound effect. Bell

However, I cannot find address 60212 or 6021 or F7 #9654 on my command station. It's weird, because at one time, it was working, but now I cannot recall what the address was...

That post indicates that the default address is 07. However, the loco is mfx so it should register with your Ecos. Check to make sure mfx is enabled on your Ecos.

6021 refers to Marklin's older 6021 digital controller (max 80 addresses, no mfx). 60212 refers to the Central Station 1 and 60213/60214/60215 refers to the current Central Station 2.

It sure is nice to have smart people on this forum! As was suggested by Bigdaddynz, it is the mfx issue that prevented the identification of my locos! on page 9 of the manual, paragraph 7.1.1.7 M4 I realized that I had not checked to see if M4 was checked on my command station. After I found it, I checked it and re-ran manual installation. Viola! it found both my locos and ALL of the decoder functions! They now work great! Thanks for all the input and help!

Not so sure about the smart bit! I'm well aware of this problem, having had a few brain fades and 'Doh' moments myself! Glad to be of help.
