It should be possible to install the decoder into the 3000, although running characteristics might not be optimal for the SFCM motor.

There are different versions of the delta decoders. Are there still coloured cables connected to the decoder ? If so, red is pick-up shoe, brown is mass, black to motor where red wire used to be in analog mode, blue+gree (or blue+blue) to the two field magnet connections where the reverser relay used to be.

In fact, the connections should be identical to those in your crocodile before you removed the decoder.
