Hi,
Does anyone know if the 7226 smoke generating kit physically fit into the smoke stack of the 3047 locomotive? I have upgraded the analog motor from the 3047 with a new motor and mfx decoder, and like to get a smoke generating device.
Thanks
Abe

Hi Abe, it works like heaven but....
as you may have see the connection of the head lamp and the smoke generator is the same, so in order to have independent control of both functions you have to:
1.- make a new connection for the smoke unit, isolating the original plate, or
2.- put the light in a new socket, wich is more easy and better IMHO because you also get flicker free light (perhaps you have already done that Cool )
Cheers

But I do have the obligatory (six) SBB Krocs
ECoS 50200, all FX and MFX decoders replaced with ESU V4s, operated in DCC-RailCom+ with ABC brake control.
With the exception of the passenger wagens with Marklin current conducting couplers, all close couplers have been replaced with Roco 40397.

Hi
yes I have already rebuilt the light bulb with its new socket (from Matt)
My question is does the 7226 unit fit into the 3047 smoke stack.
The reason why I am asking this, is because on the specification sheet of the 3047 it list a "rauchpatrone" #600250
That unit is not available anymore.
I want to make sure before ordering the 7226 unit that it will fit.
Thanks for all your help.
Abe

P.S. The conversion from the analog to digital conversion of my 3047 worked beautiful.

Smoke Unit #7226 is the one designed for this model, according to the Märklin catalogues. It may be a snug fit, but that is to ensure sufficient ground. You might want to lightly buff up the sides of the smokestack with a round file before pushing in the unit. My 3047 is using this particular smoke unit to good effect, so you should have no worry.
