The address range is probably from 0 through 16.383, that`s 16.384
address slots, that`s 2 powers 14.

The unit (probably) will not differentiate between categories of devices, such as mobile decoders, stationary decoders, boosters, detectors,...

The CS will assign addresses to components automatically so, you will have to bother with names instead of addresses.

Regards,
Manfred

Why not ? If I were that super-rich IT tycoon from Greece I surely would have fun with such numbers. But then I'd have one servant just for holding my beer, another one for dusting off my 500m x 500m BIG-SCALE LAYOUT, a third for ... [xx(]

Thanks, Davy. That's a lot more than the two MS versions. And a little bit more than CU.

3Amp, so do we really need a 60VA transformer to get the most out of this, or will the 42VA do? If I'm not wrong, I believe you multiply 16V X 3Amp, and you only come up with 48VA anyway..

CU delivers 2.5A, CS gives us 3.0A of output power. Well, are those 0.5A more also one loco more to run when switching to that new controller ???

Don't forget that the 48 VA is after the power consumption of the CS itself.
So 48 VA for the trains and 12VA for the CS itself.
I use 70 VA transformers myself to make sure the transformer itself will not the weakest link.

Where do you get 70VA transformers? Do they make them in 110V

Try this one, although it is a 90VA:

http://www.dccspecialties.com/products/mf615.htm

It is available at Litchfield Station http://www.litchfieldstation.co...cc/mrdcc.html#PS-AC-1560 as the PS-AC-1560 for $36.00USD. I've used it with the 6021 controller, and haven't had any problems at all, but I'm sure the electronics guru's might want to comment on it.

Yes, I want! What strikes me when looking at the pictures is that there is an earthing wire in the mains chord while the transformar itself is enclosed in plastic. What use has this?
Even more striking is that the earthing wire seems to continue in the output cable. That's puzzling me also.
Is this caused by differences in safety rules between the USA and Europe? I must say that this configuration looks very un-European...

According to the instructions provided at the link for the power supply, the Digitrax DCC sytem appears to utilize the ground (earthing) wire. I use the power supply for my Lenz system, and the wire is not used, in fact it is stated emphatically not to attach it. Apparently some DCC systems in the USA use a ground (earthing) wire. It probably is caused by the safety rules differences, but I live in a house wired in 1920...so no ground wiring anyways... [:I]
