Hi Everyone:

I have had 3 of them including the 3127 OeBB but sold the blue one.

converted them with an ESU decoder and they run excellent.

Noise level: both 3125 and 3126 are quite noisy when driving it at higher speed.
One fo the railcars got stuck on the track without me noticing and unfortunately (or fortunate) the DC motor burnt out, you can't get a replacement motor for this railcar anymore and I've opted for the newer version of the Red Arrow.
To my surprise they've changed the motor and the new version is so much quieter even at high speed, which it should'nt run anyway.

The motor is slightly bigger and some alterations have to be made so the motor can fit.
the cardan shaft is the same and the flywheel is slightly bigger as well.
excanged the light bulbs with Led's and added a separate interior light function (F1).
the running characteristics are excellent, the model is all metal.
Yesterday I've removed the small coupling hook and replaced it with a metal one and did the same with a low sided carriage (10th year celebration car), I constructed a small coupling bar, so I can run it with a maintenance carriage as well.
Underneath, which I don't need anymore as the Rd Arrow runs of the new errected overhead system, I've drilled a bigger hole so the switch from overhead to rail can be moved sideways.

there is enough room to to do the conversion and one day if they get a full sound module I'll add a sound decoder.

it has 4 rubber tyres and 2 axles are powered.

If I may add a small detail: The designation RAe 2/4 doesn't match any of the Red Arrows manufactured by Marklin, because an RAe 2/4 indicates a railcar with first class seating only. All Marklin models follow the prototypes with either 2nd (--> RBe 2/4) or 3rd class (--> RCe 2/4) seating.

However, the SBB did have two (slightly modified and longer) prototypes called RAe 2/4 (last road numbers 1001 and 1002), but the only H0 model I am aware of was made by Fulgurex.

After having followed the instructions on your page (as stated in my blue arrow thread) the noise level decreased a lot so I can also recommend doing this as the arrow in it's original state has to much bad noise to be enjoyable.

Tonight I found another small issue with my Roter Pfeil 3605.

When driving on my C-tracks, the "magnet" under the 3605 hits the lantern on a 24612 switch.
The lantern is pushed fully down.



Before hitting, the "magnet" was straight and in correct position. The photo is from attemt no. five or something.
Has anybody else experienced this phenomena?

I had this experience with 3126 and 37691 BR 19 with her plastic skirts around the wheels.

You should find the new motor is very quite
