Hello Mehmet,
It is so pleasing to see you recovering.
How appropriate for you that your orthopaedic surgeon is obviously a Märklin Metal fan !
When viewing the lateral image of your plated right fibula, one can see the piece of Märklin Metal he used !
:
And I suspect that the surgeon selected the plate from the indicated section of his surgical parts kit shown below
:
Congratulations on your progress - looking good
Regards,
Philip

Hi Mehmet
Good to see your "remarkable" recovery, considering the complexity and the number of fractures!
I was particularly impressed with your surgeon's work on "repairing" your fibula.
This is one of the most delicate fractures to correct, and yours was complicated with other damages nearby.
You were apparently in very good (surgeon's) hands!
As a mountain biker, I've seen a few of my friends with that type of complicated damage and sometimes it's been long for them to recover.
It's not just a matter of re-attaching the bones but also the muscles and tendons around them.
And then it becomes a (slow) matter of recovering on the proper irrigation of all the surrounding tissues.
That's where "mother patience" will help you during the rehab process.
The key and most effective medication in all this is keeping a good spirit...and we're happy to see you have plenty of that!
Keep the spirit!

Ouch, I can feel the pain from here with that lot.
But not only are you smiling, but standing unaided - that is really good to see. Despite your countrys financial problems you still have a good medical care system.
It is great to see the progress you are making, it really could have been a lot worse, especially looking at that first x-ray.

Hi Kimball,
I really owe a lot to all of them. Without them, I might have missed a foot...
Before the the operation my wife was told that there was a risk of losing the foot by 15%
Thank God! So far everything has gone so good so far...
Thank you for your warm interest..

Yes, my counrty suffers from deep financial problems like our old world does....
But when you have a private health insurance, which costs me fortune every year, you deserve a better medical care.

I like Märklin items produced in the 1960s or early '70s, but also digital locos & current rolling stock.

How appropriate for you that your orthopaedic surgeon is obviously a Märklin Metal fan !

And I suspect that the surgeon selected the plate from the indicated section of his surgical parts kit shown below

Congratulations on your progress - looking good

I see a bird, I see a train, I see Marklin Man.....
Marklin-Man, Marklin-Man,
Does whatever a train man can
Builts a track, any size,
Teaches kids how to drive
Look Out!
Here comes the Marklin-Man.
On Saturday the sun will rise ,
I cannot imagine how I will size
My wilderness
My happiness
Another kid to be taught
Ohh!! What a wonderful thought....
Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you...

Hi Peter,
You are so right about my friends. I would not have managed without them. But I must confess that the whole idea belongs to my precious wife...
Cheers,

I would never and never let one single Preiserling share the same destiny of mine...
I must confess that I am not 100 % back, but going there is not impossible now, which it used to be for almost three months...

Hi Mehmet,
That was fun.
Maybe you can glue a small magnet to the top of the metal load.

Thes e videos moved me to tears Mehmet!
I was re-living my own "Home return" after my weeks in the hospital in 2001!
I know it's a great moment and the most importnat milestone in the recovery process.
I'm so glad you're now home .
My only regret: I'll never have the chance to load my trains with the (titanium) "spare parts" mounted around my spine.
But that's just a detail!
Welcome home!

Hello Dr Eisenbahn,
As you expressed and experienced, it was a great moment for me. I must admit being there with friends and trains made me feel wonderful. Thank for your wonderful considerate thoughts for me.
Cheers,
mehmet
