Joe: Absolutely. Here is the website for the Marklin shop:

http://www.marklinstore-amsterdam.nl/

It is located very close to Zuid station and easy to get to by Metro or Tram. The also have a sister shop that sells all brands:

A little harder to get to, but a great shop with great staff!

If you want to make a longer trip, go to Rotterdam and see the
railz miniworld.
A large lay-out with the theme Rotterdam and other Dutch cities and landscapes.

You can travel within the hour with he high speed train (Fyra).
The lay-out is just outside the station.

There also a large train shop in Rotterdam

Meijer & Blessing.nl.

Just a 15 minutes walk from the station.

Thanks Piet, but she only has one afternoon free in Die Dam area, Amsterdam. (she is actually on a business trip). I would like her to bring back some sorely needed track pieces - not too big, that will fit into her luggage easily!
(Isn't that BR 23 just out of this world....thanks again for your input)

Joe-the prices will be normal retail prices. Virtally the same as retail pricing in Germany.
