I've read on the forum that there will be a new power supply available around July - the 60101, which will provide 5 amps of power.

My question - if I connect this power supply to a 60174 booster, will it provide 5 amps of power to the section of track?

Greg

Hi Greg,

The answer is no: the power output depends on the electronic circuitry on the booster.
Even if you supply the booster with a transformer capable of 100 A, the power output of the booster does not change.

Thanks Tom, for pointing this out. I'll wait for the software and the power supply to be available.

Hello,

it is even mentioned on the Märklin German homepage, on the news of the 60173 exchange offer.

So it is official.
