Have any of you tried these manufacturers? Do they come with different colors? Is there a hobbyshop in the United states or Canada that sells these direct? I found Artitec but none of the others.

Thanks in advance
Dave

I think that Artitec uses resin and does not come in colors. Reynaulds carries that line here in the USA. I don't know about the others.

I don't have direct experience with these maunfacuters, yet.BigGrin Yet,from your post,it is NOT difficult to change colors.Either with a very cheap airbrush or a brush.

Hi Dave,

I have a lot of Jouef and Mkd buildings on my layout.
Because I've bought these kits years ago, I don't know if this evaluation is still valid.

Both Jouef and Mkd are French-style.
The parts are coloured with different colors, but I think that if you don't want your buildings
look like a Playmobil area, you have to repaint yourself the parts with different colors, and then add some weathering.

The Jouef sawmill is great, for example.
The Mkd houses have a lot of charm.

I also was surprised to find that some (a few) Jouef houses I've bought were scaled 1/100!!

Again, this is an old judgment, from ten years ago.

I was also obliged to add cardboard behind the walls to avoid the lighting going through.

I am not sure, but I'd swear I saw recently some Jouef kits now labeled "Mkd"...

Regards
Joël
