Hi All,

I have loads of 7299 track screws for mounting M-track. I was wondering if this screw is the same as the 74990 suggested by Marklin for C-track and if it can be used for C-track.

Cheers,
Ranjit

No.
Not the same size at all. I have both, and the new C-track screws are smaller and longer. The hole in C-track is not big enough for the older screws. Of course, if you are willing to enlarge each hole with a drill.....[:p]

I use the old screws for other things, like holding down my IB and 6040.biggrin

At 100 screws for less that $10, I have more than enough for a layout larget than mine.

Hi Francisco,

Are you really interested in these 7299 M-screws? I have about 18 boxes (some in cardboard boxes and others in classic plastic red boxes) which have been wih me for a very long time. Let me know off this list so that we can make an arrangement.

Cheers,
Ranjit

I use 15mm brass escutcheon pins to hold down C-track ! Have to be 15mm ! Use needle-se pliers to hold them whilst tapping gently with a small hammer until in place . To remove use a larger screwdriver to lift track gently at the sides. Is this any help, or are you asking for help with fixing K-track ?

Doesn't the brass color make it too noticeable?

Silly Pablo ! You just paint them over with gray paint ! BTW > I use a white marker pen on the depressions before I bang the pins in so as I can find where to put them ,too!( grey on grey is hard to find)

Marklin screws match C track in colour and are not noticable when in place. Why would you want to use anything else.
David
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.
