Hello,

I am thinking to build a switchboard with the Uhlenbrock Track Control system.
I would like to connect this to my 6021 via the 6021 loconet adapter.

Unfortunately I cannot find if communication between Loconet and 6021 is in both ways.
I would like to know if I set a switch or signal with memory or keyboard this change in setting is reflected on the Track-control switchboard....

Hopefully there are some people here using the 6021 loconet adapter who can inform me if there is communiction in both ways or only from loconet to 6021.

Jos

Jos

Yes, communication is both ways. (Unlike the Sniffer option of the CS1 or 605x interface)

Absoutely no problem with using and programing basic addresses. Some of the more advanced features like route selection may have issues with setup (require an intellibox to play with CVs), but in operation the transmission of accessory switching commands is fine

What you are suggesting is just one more item to "add to the business case" for getting the UB 63820. And, I think, an excellent choice for joining/bridging the Marklin and LocoNet environments

If you were not aware, the Track Control system also has "Throttle" modules and can therefore control Locos. It is just important that any loco address used is de-selected from the 6021.

Note: While the "LocoNet to Mobile Station" adapter enables utilisation of all those extra MSs from startersets over "distance", IT is not bidirectional and will not know if exteranl changes are made to a locomotive it has called up.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your answer. That's good news!
For programming the switchboard I am planning to use the usb-loconet interface to set things up.

I know there are some limitations but basic switch and signal operation should suffice for me. No more remembering which key on which keyboard key to press....

The idea of using the Throttle's is also interesting so I can also add them later.

I'm also planning to experiment with Lissy to control loc functions (sound off when loc is in the invisible part of my layout, etc).

I know it's more expensive to set up those things without a PC but I'm not in a hurry and want to get away from the PC when playing with my model railroad as I am using a PC all day for my work....
Regards,
Jos

I published several articles on the Uhlenbrock Track Control system in our Marklin Club magazine, which was written by one of our members, with some assistance from Clapcott - they did a presentation to the club of this system back in about June this year.

The articles give a general overview of the Uhlenbrock Track Control system.

I could send you a copy if you wish.

Hi David,

If you could send me a copy by e-mail that would be great.

I don't know if my e-mail is visible in my profile so I did sent you an e-mail message a few minutes ago.

Jos

Cool

Do not plug the loconet adapter in to a 6021 that is turned on, the loconet adapter might be destroyed.

I tried this; but got a new Loconet adapter free of charge from Togcenter Gentofte in Denmark.

Very nice service wink

Can I have a copy of the mail, please.

Per.

P.S: I hope this is not one of those "I will send to true Marklin fans, who never said

Well I have been experimenting with track-control connected to the 6021 with the loconet adapter from Uhlenbrock.
All works well but I am unable to get signal switching working when using a signal with more than 2 aspects.

using the red/green signals is working ok, but when using the marklin new digital signal with attached switching (rangier) signal I am unable to program that I can use all the 4 aspects of this signal. Also using extra buttons for halt/faht/rangierfahrt switching I am unable to getting that at work...

Hopefully someone has some hints because the basic operations are working perfectly and I am starting to like this track-control a lot BigGrin
Regards,
Jos
