I have made this power connection device for M tracks:

I made these circuit boards for an IR train detection system (similar to Uhlenbrock Lissy) but I had to order more boards than I needed, so I also made them useful for power connection. I use a 4-pole pin header that is wired symmetrically. That way I do not have to worry about the polarity.

Why didn't anyone invent this device 30 years ago ? Now when M-track is almost history it is a bit late wink.

Hello Per,

As I use lots of m-track, I am really interested, but I can't see the pictures..

Thanks

Oh no! Not again! I guess it is some DNS problem (it usually is when you can't see my pictures). Try these links instead:http://home.swipnet.se/perz/track_power.jpg and http://home.swipnet.se/perz/track_power2.jpg

That is on my other ISP.

Ah yes... Very simple.. I addresses the earth/ground supply much better than the 5004 solution.. Can I assume that they slide underneath the third rail and do not require solder?

Why do you have four pins on the plug?

Thanks
Adrian

No soldering to the track required.
I use a 4-pin plug because I want it to be symmetrical. Ground ("brown") is on the two outer pins and power ("red") on the two inner. No risk for wrong polarity that way.
