Joined: 27/12/2006(UTC) Posts: 65 Location: , PA		I was planning on getting the ESU v3 update for my CS1. One feature is DCC compatibility. Does that mean I can run a two rail DCC loco on my 3 rail Marklin track if I add a pickup shoe for the third rail? Would I have to modify the motor? Any comments on this topic would be appreciated. Joined: 12/11/2004(UTC) Posts: 548 Location: Maryland, USA		Hi Phil, DCC decoders can be controlled in parallel with Marklin protocols. So that should work. The other element is the conversion from 2 rail to a three rail. There are a few topics discussing this, I have not tried. My general impression is that it is eaiser to go from 2 to 3 than from 3 to 2. Try the search feature to find some topics. John

Yes you can. You will probably also need to electrically connect both wheelsets together too.
