Now that Marklin have ceased to work with ESU for controllers, are they
likely to make a similar break for their decoders? Both in the loco's and in the upgrade kits?

If so, are there any indications has to who they may use? or will it be inhouse?

Cheers....

Mike.

I would expect that the design and software on the programs are done by Marklin or some subcontractor and the manufacture of the boards themselves is done in China.

But who, I have no clue ??

I vote for the same people who designed the 6090x series to design the new ones. Those are the decoders I still prefer in terms of motor control and regulation.

The combination of a 60905 with a Maxon motor is S-U-P-E-R-B biggrin

Why not bring back the old 6090 as a "budget" decoder like the 60760? It was a proven design that should stand being manufactured in China (providing quality control is up to it) and it'd be a fine seller at 60760 prices. People wanting all the MFX extras would still choose the 6090x decoders, but it'd give those on a budget a decent decoder.

I agree, although I would prefer that it was not manufactured in China.
