Someday in January or February we'll find the official new items brochure either on maerklin.nl or at lokshop.de ... ... and some days later also on maerklin.de.
I am curious - but I can wait ... |

There is still no buyer to Marklin company! So why do you think Pluta should created more models as new 2010...? There is not even money to get new models!

Why so expensive then?
A premium loco is normally around 400 euros, 2 of them would be 800 euros. Still 900 - 1050 euros to make up. However, if the DB set is the one with 2 locos (an E44 and a steam lok) and the Railbus, then I guess it will be 2 MS2's.
(I'm not on my usual PC, so I can't go and look at the pdf's with the details of the 2009 starter sets that Marklin cancelled).

Very interesting (tempting) choice of new model... I would think that this new model comes with a can motor as opposed to DCM - especially considering it'll be sold under Trix as well. But we'll see when the official info comes out. IMO makes more sense to develop a new TGV as opposed to the ICE-1 in Trix 2008 New Items. I do think the mega sets are quite dear... They better include something really interesting packed in there to justify the price. Maybe a dual motor model like an Ae 8/14... |

Is anything known yet about the scale of the TGV?
Will it be 1:87 or 1: 1:93,5??

Isn't the TGV coaches much shorter than normal passenger coaches? I suppose it would most likely be on exact 1/87 scale. |

Isn't the TGV coaches much shorter than normal passenger coaches? I suppose it would most likely be on exact 1/87 scale. yes the lenght should be at exact 1:87 scale. On the Marklin French Forum it is said that the motorized element will be in metal ! Which is a true good surprise. But I still have a doubt about it ( due to the price, If true it should be more expensive...I think)With all different ICE Trains, they never did it in metal... Wait & see. They have choosen the "TGV POS": logical choice, this train is rolling in Germany and Switzerland as well. Making an ICE 3 and a TGV passing each other should be a nice sight. The TGV is with the new livery .Interior style and settings were designed by "Christian Lacroix". I hope Marklin will make it a point of honour to reproduce accurate interior settings ( like they did with PBA coaches) Christian Lacroix is a well known couturier & designer who has a very particular & original style - ( let me say : as a couturier I like his style very much. But I never went into a TGV POS ...Not yet.)Here you will have a look about the TGV POS ( to reach the pictures , just scroll down): Add on: http://www.symbioz.net/index.php?id=19

No it might not, about the THALYS PBKA (Paris-Bruxelles/ Koln-Amsterdam)uniquely: they are the same with same engine "TGV Duplex" and same coaches. The livery only is different. Interior settings are different ( for interior settings depending on the period, the most recent one might be renewed in "Christian Lacroix " style , may be, I'm not sure.....)

Roland, do you know how far it gets into Switzerland? Geneve? or does it reach more inside. TGV looks very attractive to me, of course it need to be the complete train so it will be quite a budget amount. I am in also for 37320 and 37321 this year. Plus the swiss mega starter set if it has a CS2. I only don't like the RE 4/4 IV on the 29019 set. My |
