I want to add a Minitrix digital loop on my layout. I need to buy a new controller, control box, and power supply. Can I use an extra HO MARKLIN 18vdc pwr supply that I have, or do I need to purchase the Minitrix 15vdc power supply for the N scale? Thanks in advance, I’m definitely a newbie!

Hi Scott
The recommended way using Minitrix in digital must include:
- an MS2 66955 same as for HO (identical to Märklin 60657
- a Trackbox Märklin 60116 (same as for HO)
- a powersupply ,delivering 15 VDC (instead of 18 VDC) the reference is 66510 for Europe (20 VAC) I cannot find the Minitrix equivalent. You must talk to a Trix dealer in the USA.

Alternately, for larger layouts a CS3 may be use for Minitrix as for Trix or Märklin 60216 or 60226
The difference is about using a 15 VDC power supply 60045 (for US) It has a switch to select 15 VDC (N) or 19 VDC (HO)

Cheers
Jean

Scott, I suppose you use a MS2 and a Trackbox with a HO 18 VDC power supply.

You most probably can find a 15 VDC , 30 VA power supply (wallwart) in the US even with the same jack plug simply check the polarity as it MUST be like on your existing 18 VDC PSU.
The PSU must be regulated and with 30 VA power output. Probably no big deal JUST DOUBLE CHECK THE POLARITY (I think the PLUS is inside the jack plug while MINUS is outside)
You need a multimeter and a soldering iron

Cheers
Jean
