Just got this from the Stummis New items for 2026 thread ...

Seems Roco are sort of copying the Marklin/Piko project from a year or two ago ...

Are you talking about new items or existing items?

The Br101 Metropolitan set has been available for several months, can be obtained at significant discount now as it doesn't seem to have sold too well as the coaches are made by Piko. See https://www.modellbahn-kramm.com/sc/20/p/540/26931?lang=en

The DE18 Leonhard Weiss set has been announced about 2 months ago and is available for pre-order at multiple dealers for delivery around June or July. See https://www.modellbahn-kramm.com/sc/20/p/540/26180?lang=en

@jonas_sthlm: Your Piko link further above seems to be wrong or outdated (it mainly contains spare parts). Here is the German variety of the 2026 new items catalog: https://www.piko.de/KAT_PDF/2026/99526.pdf

The Ee 3/3 II two-system locomotive is AFAIK an exclusive model for Switzerland marketed by the Swiss importer. In the future, a French variety of this interesting prototype can be expected: https://c-20155.ch/

Well how about that.
Finally ....finally ......Märklin and Trix can paint up a Danish MZ HO scale model of a real locomotive used in Australia as purchased from Denmark.
And one never knows how many 1 gauge examples they might sell.

Hi

The parts link was more to show that it exists but was now not presented.

SBB Elektrische Rangierlok Ee 3/3 II 16515 nach Übernahme SNCF, Ep. IV, DCS

Certainly doubtful whether it comes from Märklin, since Märklin has its own one that you combine the chassis with the Swedish Ub, Ue and the Norwegian El10.

Happy New Year!

Although their own PluX22 decoder could be used, the model lacks immediate relevance and appears to be more of a makeshift solution aimed at Märklin.

Roco news will be released on January 12, unless something leaks beforehand.

The only rumour I heard is a possible reissue of the Roco SBB RABDe 500, as Roco have released a post observing that this model is hugely popular, and they did not make enough and that second hand versions sell for double the original price. I think they intend to tap into that demand and why not.

Don't know about Trix, but at least one dealer listing the Piko items says it will "shortly be announced by Marklin also". Sorry, can't find the link at the moment.

They have been quite early the last 2/3 years since the Nurnberg Toy Fair lost its significance with Covid putting the brakes on things. Many companies have now stopped using the Toy Fair as the point of announcements, and many now don't even go to the Toy Fair.

Not all Märklin products are produced by Trix, and they might have some agreements let Piko to handle DC.

Piko doesn’t provide any AC products for Metropolitan.

Found it, it was in a newsletter from Hunerbein in Aachen. lets see if it will copy ...

SNCF Diesellok CC65000
Museumslok in Ursprungsausführung Epoche III
komplette Neukonstruktion mit Metallgehäuse
mit Führerstands-, Maschinenraum- und Fahrpultbeleuchtung
viele angesetzte Details
DC oder DCC Sound
die AC Version wird in Kürze von Märklin angekündigt
jetzt Vorbestellpreis sichern!

Notice the bit about AC version, which translates as "The AC version will be announced by Märklin shortly." That suggests to me there will not be a Trix version.

This is not the first time Piko have collaborated with Marklin in this manner.

I saw that Roco post about the ICN. I don't exactly know what the reason for that post was. I do know that it was reported from a number of sources that the molds for the RABDe 500 (ICN) were lost/damaged and that a new model would require the development of new molds to be able to issue a new version.

Since the original pair of models, there remains a possibility that Roco could release a model in the liveries that were introduced since then. I would also welcome a model of the prototype with the Expo 02 markings.

What I would definitely hope for is that Roco would ensure that any new model would include better and brighter lights than the headlights/hi-beams of the original model.

As Roco has announced it is making a model of the Stadler Railjet trains, it would be nice if they could also make the RABe 512 of the SBB.

Here is what I am expecting to see in 2026:

Maerklin/Trix: SBB Cargo Vectron X-Load
Maerklin/Trix/Piko: RABe 501 (SMILE) of Westbahn
Maerklin/Trix: Siemens HC ODEG (Elbe-Spree)

Other thoughts: 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of the Seetal Crocodile. Maerklin/Trix might commemorate this with a special model (Zinkpest not included)
It is also the 100th anniversary of the DB BR44 Steam locomotive

Hoping to see: BLS MIKA, SOB Treno Gottardo

Regards

I don't know what change of shape there was to the RABDe 12/12 in the 1980s. On the prototype in the mid-80s, the unit number was added to the front of the train, the side destination signs had the yellow eye marker indicating that the train was using an honour system for fare collection and that there was no conductor on the train, meaning that tickets had to be purchased on the platform/at the station. I don't know if the Bahn Polizei did occasional controls to check for fare evasion, but it seems likely to me. At some point, the trains also added a sign showing the S-Bahn route in the middle front window.

When the units were refitted in the NPZ livery and relabeled as RBDe 510, they also received the (then) standard rectangular halogen headlights.

Yes, there’s probably no doubt that it will be an Mz from Märklin, but does it really feel right for a true Märklin enthusiast? Mellow

Who knows, III might have come as a shock to McK/Deka's future plans, but it feels like it's already overloaded with the type of models like Nohab.

I just got back from a Danish dealer Kystbanen. I overheard some danish costumers already pre-ordering the MZ from Märklin so yes, it will sell alot at least here in Denmark.

I believe that one was actually quietly launched in October? or November? last year, and it appeared on the November 25 delivery list.

Why?
McK and Dekas have ESU Loksound 5 with power cap and yes Jonas are right about danish models are overloaded with MZ and Nohab.
Both McK and Dekas have metal body of theirs locomotives which also make good quality products.

We have customers in Sweden too, but it doesn’t help when everyone insists on making Rc locomotives that end up being unsellable, and there’s no need to pre-order until the sales actually begin.

I would say that all these new models, built on the same foundations as previous ones, tend to dull interest rather than spark any at all.

Hasn't Roco already made a III version before, so what is missing M label on Piko construction?

I've never heard a danish customer complain about a danish model from Märklin. Actually the costumer didn't care if the new Märklin model of the MZ was from era 4 or if it was model version IV.

Swedish costumers always complain about a swedish model released by Märklin but not Roco.

I'm very happy for the new Swedish RC models and I always pre-order them to get a lower pre-order price.

Maybe it’s because Roco stays open-minded and values the opinions of paying customers. Or perhaps there simply aren’t that many Danish 3-rail users who have complaints.

I’d be surprised if McK, through Dekas, doesn’t already have this lined up soon in their production line.

Märklin is lagging behind, and personally I see it this way: if I’ve already bought a G2000, a T66, or a EuroDual, it won’t be any more exciting to get one from them five years later.

I’m expecting something special on Wednesday; otherwise, it’ll have to be.

Most of them buy McK and Dekas models which also present in ac.
Sure Märklin are popular but not with Märklin sound decoder.

I hope it's correct. My budget is more strict this year. I have the Märklin VT18.16 on order and really want a Märklin ICE 4.

Only hours to go before the next batch of 2026 New Items are revealed. Last year, there was an AC/DC steam engine. What will 2026 bring us?
Tonight is the Maerklin equivalent of kids not being able to sleep the night before Christmas... Waiting to see what Herr Sieber and Co will deliver us

Have a good night
