I recently acquired a 49981 Schimmel Exhibition Car w/ Sound. It only plays one piano piece so it gets abit boring after a while.
Can someone point me in the right direction for some music downloads?
Plus, assuming I can find some, how do I upload them?
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately the manual for the 49981 is not available online, but the product description says " Different classical piano pieces can be played with the 6021 Control Unit. Volume can be adjusted." so I suspect that by selecting combinations of some functions allows selection of different pieces.

This item is too old for being able to replace the sounds, having been produced in 2003.

Hello Peter,

You may find within the content of post #24 here of use.

Might what is usually the loco speed throttle then control the music volume in this scenario?

Have fun,

more info in it here:
https://www.web-hgh.de/index_jsm_moba.htm?https://www.web-hgh.de/p03_maedig_fkt_so-49981.htm

It's basically a custom sound chip, controlled by an old 60902x locomotive decoder.

does not seem like there is much you can do unless you upgrade/rebuild it with a new sound decoder etc.

A Jimmy-style side bar...here is a video that would indicate more than one sound bite available...however, as noted above, it is unlikely that one can download other options...Crying

I also have wished for miracles of downloads on this car (I do not have it as yet, but, one lives in hope LOL ), and have thought about posting it at the Vollmer Piano Fabrik model and running sound through a speaker under the factory Sneaky , but that does somewhat limit its use...RollEyes

One option might also be to investigate if it's possible to upgrade it with the decoder and electronics from 43868 or 43948, if the parts can be found.
as the music is stored on a SD card in these models.
sounds etc, for those are available here: https://www.maerklin.de/de/service/downloads/produktunterstuetzung
(The Nächste Haltestelle disco song is the most unique next station announcement from märklinCool )

offcourse you could also go alternative routes with a 3rd-party mp3 SD card player etc, or just a Bluetooth device that plays whatever you send to it.
