You could instead say that it has to comply with the DCC standard — otherwise, they’re done.

Don´t be sure!
Trix did enable Railcom now in the sound decoder so a wish is to add Railcom too in the CS3.
ESU, Lenz and Roco do have this in the system so why not with the CS3 too?
The only con are Märklins digital signals and m83/m84, they do not work when Railcom are enabled in the system.
That will be expensive for mother Märklin to change the system.

Well, ESU did not originate Railcom, so that is maybe part of the reason why Marklin have implemented it.

IIRC it was originated by Lenz, and then made a standard by the NMRA.

Hi,

One thing I would love them to fix, is with two cs3 units powering different areas of the layout (i.e. at Club), when there is a short on one cs3. To clear the stop, I need to stop the entire layout to clear the stop. Why..... : (

So annoying : )
