I am building a new layout using the Marklin C track.

I was wondering what the consensus is on whether to solder my power and feedback cables to the rail tabs, or just to use spade slide connectors onto the tabs

Thanks

Hi Alex
Definitely on the ground part, you can solder all connections because you don't need ever to disconnect
On the B part the best is to have zones of 2 meters long or so - insulated on both sides so that ONLY ONE wire feeds the section and uses a connector. This is to locate rapidly the zone were a short circuit is located.
An alternative solution is to do exactly as above except that INSTEAD of the connector, you install a 5W 12 V lamp as used in cars. That way when a short happens, the lamp of the shorted zone will lit.
Cheers
Jean
