Hi guys,

I have few questions:

1)I have several delta locomotives and I run them with marklin cs3+, my question is: can I run delta locomotives on analog system with an old transformer eg marklin 6631 or even 30va transformer ? WITHOUT damaging the locomotives?

2) similar question as 1) . can I run mfx locomotives on analog sistem with an old marklin transformer ? is it safe?

3) how about the newer versions of locomotives diginal, not mfx and not delta, I'm reffering to fx, can these work on analog system with an old transformer without damaging the locomotives or the decoder?

4)it is possible to run analog locomotives on marklin cs3+ station?

There are no guarantees. Use the white transformer - never the blue ones. You need to set the DIP switches to 0000.

If you have a CS3+, why would you want to run these on an analogue line? As long as you don't use a blue transformer or hold the reverse too long it will work, but I doubt that they will last long being run this way. It is also a waste of good features that no longer work in analogue. You also have to set a CV to enable analogue mode>

If you have a CS3+, why would you want to run these on an analogue line? In my opinion, there is no difference in fx to mfx as far as the robustness of the decoder goes. The only thing with fx is they generally has a much lower feature set than mfx and like mfx none them will work. (except maybe the lights). You also have to set the dip switches to 00000000 for it to work in analogue mode.

No, if you put them on the line they will run at full throttle. Or they might just sit there and humm. (I can't remeber what happened the last time I tried this one (accidentally). The end result is that you have no control over the loco.

Have a read of this thread -> https://www.marklin-user...log-layout--How-to-do-it
