Looking around eBay there are a lot of the K track catenary in 10x posts packs at reasonable prices.
But don’t see any for C track. The C track posts at retailers come in 5x packs and are a lot more expensive.
I’m thinking of adding catenary to my future C track layout just for cosmetic purposes.
The C track post comes with a bracket that I imagine makes it very easy to install.

Has anyone out there used the K track posts for a C track layout?
I imagine you would need to build a base to the K track post to raise it to the level of the roadbed.

Thanks in advance for any comments or advice.

Regards
Eduardo

Yes, you could easily use the k track masts and catenary wire but you will need to get the height correct. And the catenary wire is different too.

You can get the C track bases as a separate item, 74109. A pack of 20 pieces.

However you will have to decide if you want to use the older now discontinued catenary system or the latest more realistic looking system.

Lots of unanswered details here. To start at the top:

OLD MARKLIN CATENARY SYSTEM:
- Don't use the K bases, just fasten the poles to the layout directly.
- As mentioned, the height will be difference
- 74109 is a proper fix, but an expensive and out-of production one. (I've been dying to 3d print a substitute for height and mounting! This is the best answer if you know a designer...)

NEW MARKLIN CATENARY SYSTEM:
- Assuming this isn't what you mean- just buy the proper base for in this case
- To clarify, I can't see any way a K track base can even begin to work

Hope this helps,

Well, I'm not claiming it's the best solution, but I built my layout like this:

For my old school hundred catenary masts, I naturally used reference 74109, but I couldn't find many.

So most of the bases I used were M track bases,
with the end that folds down onto the ballast flattened.
I then compensated for the height of the bases by inserting calendar board under the tracks.

To fix the masts on the bases , I used the C track fixing screws.
