Hello, hope all is well.

I was watching your post to see if someone might provide a suggestion. Perhaps not many have added a turntable yet. I don’t have one, but will try to help.

First thing, I would suggest cleaning the turntable. Sometimes, this is all that is needed.

If cleaning did not solve anything you might be able to get replacement parts. With Marklin, many times parts are not listed for older items, or ones which they don’t officially supported. 8998 is one of these items. No parts are listed on the Marklin website as available for this. Many times, more current items will list parts and part numbers, which may still work with your original product.

I did find parts listed for the 89982 and 89983 turntables, and you might get them from your local Marklin dealer.

I would ask them if part number 765670 from 89982 named a compression spring. Marklin direct support may have this available.

As you mentioned, another possibility is part number 243811 from 89983 which is listed as a spring, but I am not certain if this is available.

These are the only two springs listed for the turntable. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the turntable to tell you one of these is necessarily your solution.

If you have eBay, you might also find someone who can help you. A vendor from Italy has proven to be knowledgeable and reliable. Search for Coccodrillo114, mailing is usually reasonable too.

I hope you can get your turntable fixed. I would like to add one to my layout one day. The older ones are often sold in the secondary market and likely are in need of repairs. Please share your solution should you reach one.

I have not found any information on turntable repairs. Ztrainweekly did discuss a repair for a flat bed table, but I don’t know if it uses the same operating principles. You might also search YouTube for suggestions.

Hope this helps. Take good care.

E243811 is a known issue with these turntable. its the contact spring that connects with each track as the table moves around. Many marklin dealers list the part as available so I tried to order a few places. Maybe they have access to parts that are not available on marklin site. If thats not possible I will fabricate my own solution to this problem. I`l keep you updated

Hello, hope all is well.

This part is likely available in the secondary market. I suggest contacting coccodrillo to see if he can find it for you.

I believe he has a website, maybe you could find it. On my view on eBay, he does not currently list an item for sale. Perhaps your view is different.

Take good care. Best wishes.

Found the website

http://www.modeltreno.com/2020/marklinservice.html

Contact is Flavio if he is still there.

Hello. Great! You might ask about that wheel set you needed. I always try to combine a few things especially if shipping does not increase. Just a thought.

Take good care.
