Hello everybody, please I need your help.

I have on my display cabinet for 9 years now the beautiful Marklin 37565-1 SBB class Ce 6/8 II "Crocodile", which I bought new from my dealer. Since then, I have never seriously tried to “open” (raise) the pantographs, since (to be honest) I was afraid that I would damage them trying.

Can you please tell me how to open (extract) them? Thank you in advance.

Regards

Paris

Just don't force them! If you can not pull it a bit to the side to release the locking tab, use a pair of tweezers to adjust the tab angle so they release.

There are two little pins underneath the ends of the pantograph blade. Those pins fit into slots in the base of the pantograph. You must gently slide the pantograph to one side and then slide it back so that the pin does not go back into the slot/tab. As you move the pantograph back in the other direction, the second pin should pop out of the other slot and you will then be able to raise it. Some models have a solid base and others may have a split part which forms either side of the slot.

I have used an image of a Sommerfeldt pantograph to show the location of the pin and the slot.

Mike THANK YOU very much. I already tried this, but maybe I was not brave enough to slide the pantograph far enough to one side. I will do it again and I will try to ease the slot with a pair of tweezers (to avoid putting all the stress to the pantograph's moving parts).
Best Regards.
