I am using Anyrail software to design a layout with some passing loops. It was all going well until I enabled the display of "inaccurate connections", which is where track pieces don't fit precisely. I've read that sometimes these alerts in Anyrail are in reality false positives, where the flexibility of the track allows the connection to work.

I hope this will be the case with my layout, but I find that passing loops with Marklin's Z track a bit of a minefield. The 0926 Track Plan book doesn't have examples of more complicated passing loops, e.g. using "trees" of points, or slips. So I can't be sure I haven't made a mistake in how I have arranged the track.

Any advice gratefully received!

Hi
I don't know anyrail but I use Wintrack which allows track bending at each junction (0.5° to a very few degree)
The reality is on long curved track there is a real flexibility even with C Track
On straight streches there is no escaping the geometry rule (if you miss 5 mm here then it will still be 5 mm even after 3 meters of track
I found that all track types are very easy to cut to the proper length, using a diamond disk
Here is a sample of track surgery I made on a C-Track triple switch

In fact doing this surgery allows you to create ANY track piece you need with "normal" extremities (the C-Track end in my case.

Cheers
Jean

I just lay it and jiggle 1/2mm here and there, as long as the electrical connections are good that sort of gap still works or even larger. Try centre line view that will tell you the degree of outness.

I will try centre line view, thanks for the tip.

I have found that if I change the order of the track sections, but keeping the overall length of the track the same, the inaccurate connection goes away. So either I am doing something wrong (quite possible) or Anyrail doesn't evaluate the accuracy of a connection reliably. I am going to take this up with Anyrail.
