I recently received a beautiful BR 01 but though the decoder works there is no sound. The speaker is easily accessible as are the electrical contacts. A multimeter registered no resistance. Should there be? I have a variable power source, what should the level of voltage be and dc or ac?

Hi
The 39017 is a Märklin digital sound loco (BR01) built in 2011 probably fitted with an mSD decoder (released in 2011)
The loud speaker is probably in the range of 5 Ohms (to be measured with a multimeter
Spare LS reference is E180 731 and costs 18€
Cheers
Jean
