Hi everyone,

I found some Bemo coaches for sale on eBay, there are made for HOe scale layouts. It’s rare to find these kinds of products on the market in Australia, so would potentially be keep to buy them if it was possible to convert them to suit the Marklin HO rails.

My question, is it just a matter of swapping out the wheels from HOe to an AC HO or something more complicated? I’m guessing it’s not possible, considering the new products Bemo have seem to categorised by scale (instead of one product and the offer of swapping wheelers).

I have attached a picture of the set, unfortunately there isn’t any product codes.



I don’t own anything from Bemo, this is something I want to have in the future to suit the Swiss themed section of my layout.

Really keen to hear everyone’s thoughts.

Hello, a few notes and answers:

1- Those are German coaches, not Swiss. Just an FYI :)
2- Bemo do make some retrofit bogies for standard HO scale, but I doubt they do this for the HOe models. They probably screw right in, just won't look correct for this type of coach
3- As a fully-custom job, It would not be hard at all to unscrew those bogies and screw HO ones in if you can find the right look
4- Regauging the wheelsets likely won't work. I don't have one handy to check, but it is a safe bet they will spread out to 12mm HOm (by design as Bemo make the same coaches for HOm), but there probably is not enough axle shaft to go all the way to HO.
