Brand new to Z scale. And getting back into the hobby after 20 years :)

Looking for track-bed for a new layout.

I simply can't find any Z scale cork anywhere now.
Is there a source or alternate approach for a track-bed

Thanks!

Have a look at www.tracklay.co.uk. They make a foam underlay for Z gauge.

Hello,hope all is well

This has been a topic here in the past. Here is just one topic addressing this subject before, there are likely more. The search feature may be used to find other discussions.

https://www.marklin-user...425-Trackbed-for-Z-scale

A possible source for roadbed might be found at this link.

https://www.zscalehobo.com/

This seller is well know here and you can trust, you will be helped. I believe the roadbed he sells is that foam type. I am sure you are aware of the track from Rokuhan which has the roadbed attached. I think ZHobo sells this also. With a little detail work, I am certain you could get this track to look okay.

The cork roadbed maker here in the US in the past was ittybitty lines, but they have been out of business for a long time now. Occasionally their product are listed on eBaY but likely command higher prices, like everything now. The discussion link above shows the cork roadbed stack solution which looks promising, but might require some extra effort.

Hope this helps. Who would think roadbed could be a show stopper. I am sure you will find an acceptable solution.

Take good care.

Hello. Hope all is well.

That stack method for roadbed looks very promising. Might take a while but eventually the good outcome makes it worth the effort. The linked post I included indicates 0.8 mm sheets were used.

In the yard, it is easy to apply large sheets.

Thanks. Take good care of
