Funny thing, In the below video I have 2 locos ( roco and fleischmann) , the issue is that I deleted the Ludmila(roco) from cs3+ and now when I put it on the track and press start ( the point is to add it again, you need to have the start option on in order to read the loco ) it does not stop even if the speed is 0%. Basically I cannot read the loco , any thoughts?

I think that it is the decoder in the locomotive which remember that it have to run.
If the locomotive was running, when you switched off the power to the track, and removed the locomotive in the CS3, then the decoder will remember it, when the power is switched on again.
You will have to add the locomotive again in the CS3, and then you should increase the speed of the locomotive, and set it back to zero again. Then switch power on to the tracks, and the locomotive should stop.
I have seen this problem several times.
Best regards Per

I dont think 38 is the right address. The issue is that even at 0 km it runs. So i have no idea how i can add it without going off the track. No matter what address i have it stilul runs.

Hi What is the difficulty of installing the loco upside down power it ALONE on the programming track and ask the CS3 to find the address and protocol for you? Cheers Jean |

I found this video about locomotives on the CS3 in all three protocols (mfx, mm and dcc). Don't know if it will help? The guy speaks with a Danish accent:-) I think JohnJean means placing the locomotive upside down and placing the piece of track connected to the programming track output on the cs3. It might be a bit difficult to keep things stabilised.

Had that happen too. Decoder remembers last speed setting before deleting loc. Reregister loc on cs3 to set speed to 0. |

What is missing in the instructions is to enter the loco without it being on the track, move the speed from zero to something just above zero and then place the loco on the track press start. Then set it at zero.

Have you resolved the problem? If not I may have another solution.

hi rhfil , thank you for your concern, yes- I sorted out. I made a circle and had time to map the loco in the cs3+. before I was using 3-4 pieces of tracks and was too short. thank you!!

Good. I remembered that there might also be a way to avoid the problem. If you are in the habit of using "save" when you shut down not doing that might solve the problem. Secondly is under "System" in the "Track: Protocols" there is an option to "Start locomotives automatically on startup". I think unclicking that might also prevent it. It is hard to duplicate the problem deliberately to check either out.
