Hello,

I’m just starting out exploring the digital world using a mobile station. I have a 33021 in a white box that says `delta and digital systems` but as soon as it touches the track it wants to run. My father ran it on his analog layout, is there something I need to do to have it run digitally?

Thanks, Jeff

Hi Jeff, basically you need to take the body off and set the dip switches to an address. Right now it is set to analog operation with all the switches off. I have uploaded an image of the Delta address dip switch settings for you. THe address is on the left and the corresponding dip switch setting is on the right.

Thanks Rick! Does it matter what address I set it to?

I tried all the addresses with the same results. The mobile station finds the loco but it starts running as soon as I take it off stop, with no control over speed. My father ran it with the old blue transformers, I’m guessing that may have messed something up. I’m thinking of replacing the decoder and adding one that also has sound.

I purchased a used loco which had a similar problem and fixed it by sliding the first dio switch repeatedly. That apparently is necessary to turn on the decoder and a bit of corrosion will prevent contact.
