To day I had brought a "Rollenprüfstand" 78151, so now we can service a Big Boy, but we do not one, as it can not get around in our helix's ....
Along with it was also a Measurement Device 78111 + meter on 78151, but unfortunately the wires are broken off on the small print. The wires are green / blue / black, and they can be soldered carefully again on again,
But is there anyone who knows the order? |

It worked.
I put in some plugs on each of the 3 wires for protection of the soldering.
BUT there are other problems ..........
First / Something slides, because the measurement varies at constant speed of the locomotives and too little speed is displayed, so I shall see what you Ross are writing about that.
Secondly / There is no current in the ball bearings and terefore I can't have a tank locomotive or a diesel pulling on both bogies at 78151.
Is this normal ? |

More from Denmark ......
I've come further into the rail and have found that my friend - who I can't "ask" anymore - has made two holes in the rail, and with the drilling i one hole, he had hit the red wire to the center rail in roll area.
It explain why there is no power where the rollers are.
So now only problem the signal to meter. |

What a service, so thank you for that.
The worst thing is, that I never used the gauge 78151, after I repaired it.
So it was sold a few years ago, when I bought a Piko "messwagen" (but it hasn't driven many meters either) !
Today is otherwise a historic day for our model railway - J&B Rail - as a hole in the layout has been closed with a inspection limb, so that I can actually declare our layout 99% complete after many years of work.
So now it's just on with the breakfast ......

As you can see, the thinner felt edge dried darker, but a little paint will help!
The idea is to hold the edge down with velcro, but that doesn't help everywhere.
So now I'll try with a Grassmaster + many trees and see, if that can hide it a bit!
These pictures ruin the original content, so maybe I'll come up with a whole new post with just pictures... |
