Hello All,

It's been several years since I've posted on here. I'm currently helping my father get his 1950s Marklin collection out and running. while building a layout with 3600 track to run the trains on. I have a few of the 800 series with the double click reverse (such as the 1956 FM 800 among others) that have reverse springs that are a little weak. I am assuming that the early Telex reverse units use the same spring. Are these springs still available and if so what is the part number? I have the standard 7194 reverse springs on hand and I have made them work by stretching them, but they are definitely shorter than the originals. I'd really like to get the correct springs if they are available.

Thanks!

James

You can check with Ritter Restaurationen or Amiba.ch to see if they have any spares available.

I believe the 7194 is the correct spring. I have just been rejuvenating some old locos and 7194 is the spring I have used. If you use a longer spring I think you will find that the reverse unit will tend to pull the armature in when the transformer is at maximum speed.

Hi

What can I say more beyond all the valuable advice?
Märklin provides those under 2 different numbers 7194 (5 pieces) and E213730 (10 pieces)
https://www.maerklinshop.de/ersa...chaltschieberfeder-10-st
A good Märklinist cannot do without them as even when there are little differences they may help repair a pantograph or a M turnout or even C turnout (a bit streching is needed)
Cheers
Jean
