Same issues and they seem to be satisfied with their quality of details Huh

Looks like it is some rough preproduction parts? 3D printed and hand painted?

Still, the 37946 is quite tempting and it would fit nicely together with my 37942 MTAS and my "Märklin" Di 8

The 39299 is also quite nice and so far the 248/249 design I like the most.

the new design on the 39253 C 5/6 "Elefant" is also nice ThumpUp

Is it necessary to 3D print the hood when mass-producing the previous metal version? Perhaps they've applied a quick hand-painting, but it certainly doesn't look appealing, and they should put a bit more effort into the details.

SJ T44 276 (1969) > NSB Di7 634 (1993) > MTAB T44 6 (1996) >
SJ T44 283 (1970) > LKAB T44 5 (1992) > MTAB T44 5 (1996) >

It's intriguing when marketing images of the engine on Trix tracks are released, suggesting that a two-rail version may be published later.

I like the 39276

When I saw the prototype I was hoping Märklin was bringing us this one. And they did! 😀

The Intercity br 218, I wonder if it will have the new sound project? It does have engine room lighting which the Cottbus version doesn't. Or, is the refueling sound function what the they mean by new sound project?

I believe that the only difference against 39216 will be the engine lighting. I mean technically.

I hope this time Märklin present new sound file for the V200.
If not it is not worth to get it.
I prefer ESU instead.

38200 - pre-series V 200 002 Diesel Locomotive (1954-1958)
https://www.maerklin.de/...ts/details/article/38200

43233 - "F 41 Senator" Express Train (late 1956)
https://www.maerklin.de/...ts/details/article/43233

As an Epoche IIIa modeller, I have been asking for a pre-series V200 for a long time and despite so many V200 variants being released, this is the first time it has made it to market.
Roco had several pre-series V 200 but they were always in later forms after conversion to the triple headlights.

So I am very please Marklin has finalling brought the pre-series to market! Great choice!

The choice of matching wagons is a bit strange, which are Ep IIIb after the class reform.
The reference photo used of the F4 'Senator' is actually from 1955 which is before the class reform and the wagons would then be 2nd class, rather than first.

UserPostedImage

The Ep IIIa versions have long been available from Trix and Liliput though so Marklin using the Ep IIIb lettering would be more broadly accepted and the V200 002 did not yet have its top headlight as late as 1958 so it is still a coherent train.
The F4 Senator typically ran with new 26.4m m-wagons after the class reform though but I think many EpIIIb modellers prefer the popular blue schurzenwagen and the new mould WR4ü-28 DSG rather than those.

I have heard and I may be corrected, that the V200 hydraulic drive created an unpleasant deafening noise in the cab.
The only plus for the engineman was the seating, because prior to this enginemen always stood, even in the electric cabs.

Nice to have a model though I suppose.

Well looking at the Marklin photos I am not seeing huge differences between this model and others that have been issued before, and certainly not Euros 430 worth of changes to justify ordering this model. The price is now similar to the ESU ones but without some of the features and the ESU soundfile. Confused Confused

Probably a pass for me

I did found V200 002 in the Wikipedia and the picture shows prototype museum with three headlights!
The engine are two V12 but not all used same manufacture.
There was Maybach, Mercedes-Benz and MAN.
I am curious what Märklin this time will present type of the sound file for the pre prototype V200.

Improved sound projects are always welcome.Smile
However, I doubt they can create a prototypical sound project for the V200.0 pre prototypes, as they had smaller engines, vs the v200.1. According to Wikipedia etc, the original prototype engines were later replaced with more powerful ones. So both Märklin and ESU will struggle to make prototypical sound, with the sound from the original engines.
The V200 001 is currently being restored but, I don't know what engines it has, but a guess is that it has the latest type of engines and not the original type of engines?
ref: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/DB-Baureihe_V_200.0
at least Mârklin has different engine sounds for the v200 and v220. But on most models, they lack engine information etc. E.g. I suspect the G 2000 37296 has the sound of the wrong engine (CAT 3516) as the prototype is only one of two G 2000 fitted with an MTU engine (probably too costly to get the correct sound and they hoped no one would notice it) ref https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vossloh_G2000_BB and https://www.loks-aus-kiel.de/index.php?nav=1403942&lang=1&id=12596&action=portrait. Esu has G 2000 sound project with an MTU engine, so that would be wrong on most G 2000 models..........

Sadly the V 200 002, where lost in the fire at the Nümburg museum on 17 October 2005. https://www.drehscheibe-online.de/foren/read.php?108,5059233

Well if there are any Insider members here who are not ordering the V200 002 and would be willing to share their details so I can pre-order it then that would be greatly appreciated.

edit: I have very kindly been shared an insider membership to pre-order the V200, so the above request is no longer necessary.

Today there is a lot of news from the French elections, but we can't discuss French politics on this forum and it's a bit boring anyway...... Wink

But it seems like Märklin has some much more interesting French news:
As Märklin has published (by mistake?) a new decoder project called: M38141_Dampflok-BR141-R-65-SNCF
If this is correct, it means that Marklin is planning to release a model of the SNCF 141-R, with the Marklin number 38141 and road number 1244?
Could it be the next surprise locomotive?
the 65 number is a bit confusing but it could be a mixup related to the 241 A 65?, but inside the decoder project, the decoder name is "141-R 1244 SNCF"
the information in the decoder project indicates that it does not have a dynamic smoke generator??, but otherwise lights on the wheels, two? firebox lights and cab lights etc.
The decoder project can, at the time of writing, be downloaded from Märklin using the mDecoderTool3 software. (from the M38 Folder). Note: I might have missed or overlooked something....

Could be that it's delayed or it could be that it was a super exclusive model for special persons? eg som directors etc in the company? it could also be that it has been cancelled?
On the other side, Märklin has not yet announced a locomotive for those insider members with 30 years of membership, eg similar to the 20-year locomotive 39052..........
(all insiders could order the 39745)

The SNCF 141-R decoder project seems genuine, but perhaps not completely finished? I don't think Märklin would have made an entirely new project with locomotive steam sounds etc, if they did not plan to release it as a model. but only time will tell.

Märklin has this description:
Prototype: 3 four-axle passenger cars, the so-called "Schürzenwagen" / "Skirted Passenger Cars" from the prewar period. Several of these cars remained after World War II in France and entered SNCF ownership in this manner. This group of cars has a bottle green basic paint scheme corresponding to the way the cars looked in Era IV at the start of the Seventies.

Hi, they definitely lasted until the early 70s some of the other SNCF coaches Marklin have done lasted until the mid to late 70s. Marklin have done these coaches before although not as a set. I’m pleased to see these back again. As they are expensive second hand. I’ll order a set as they fit nicely on my layout.
