Bonjour, je dispose d'une locomotive Märklin ref 5746 que je voudrais équiper d'un décodeur. Cette locomotive marche en courant continu.
1) J'ai une CS2 et une CS3+
2) J'opterais pour une décodeur ESU Lockpilot V5L ref 59315

Mes questions :
1) Cela est-il possible?
2) comment effectuer les branchements du décodeur?

Dear JP

Your 5746 is an original BR78 with a 16V AC motor. The motor is is the tombstone type with 3015 brushes. The reverse units were the 33* H0 series with electro-mechanical reverse and electronic booster.

If you have a CS2 and CS3 + then just use a Marklin decoder.

The one to use is a 60906 - Decoder kits - AC/DC motors MFX.

This way you can use the existing motor and lamps, you take out the reverse units of course.

I have done it before, works well and MFX, all fits together.

Bonjour et merci pour cette réponse précise et détaillée mais je me pose encore une question car le 60906 est limité à 1.6A maximum et comme il s'agit d'une locomotive echelle 1 il m'est conseillé d'utiliser un décodeur acceptant au moins 3A (d'où mon choix pour l'ESU 59315). Il est vrai que si le Märklin 60906 est largement suffisant, il aura ma préférence. Pouvez-vous me confirmer que ce dernier est largement suffisant? D'avance merci. Cordialement.

I used the 60906 in a 5710 BR80 tank loco. The current draw was 900mA, well below the 1.6A.

Your loco may have a different motor and thus a different current draw. Also a heavier build. The best solution is to measure the motor amperage running stand
alone and see if it is far below the 1.6A. If not you will have to use a ESU decoder, which I prefer not to, if running on a CS3+ etc. However it would be satisfactory.

Votre locomotive peut avoir un moteur différent et donc une consommation de courant différente. Également une construction plus lourde. La meilleure solution est de mesurer l'ampérage du moteur en fonctionnement autonome et de voir s'il est bien inférieur à 1,6 A. Sinon, vous devrez utiliser un décodeur ESU, ce que je préfère ne pas faire, si vous utilisez un CS3+, etc. Cependant, ce serait satisfaisant.

Je viens de tester :
0.8A en moyenne, très rarement 0.9A, pour le moteur seul.
Je vais remplacer les ampoules par des led et voir ce que cela donne avec le fumigène installé. Si c'est trop puissance je l'enlèverai.
Je vais donc installer un 60906.

I just tested:
0.8A on average, very rarely 0.9A, for the motor alone.
I'm going to replace the bulbs with LEDs and see what happens with the smoke installed. If it's too powerful I'll remove it.
So I'm going to install a 60906.
