I’m currently restoring a Marklin Heavy Field Gun No 8065. I need to find out whether the spur with a screw on the firing lever underneath the gun goes above or below the axle. Before I started restoring it, it was below the axle, but the whole gun had been really messed about with. I’ve rebuilt it & left the firing lever with the spur below. This impedes elevation somewhat & doesn't allow the firing mechanism to be cocked at high elevation. Can someone help as to whether it should be above or below? If it is above I suspect someone has bent the firing lever!

If you are a Facebook user, you might try asking on this group... https://www.facebook.com/groups/1080130766077205 - Marklin original antique toys Art Van Der Zouwen regularly posts images of vintage non-railway toys including some of the military items, he may have an example he can check what you want to know. Attached image of a post from 2022 Hope this helps Cheers Steve |
