Hello,
Does the Viessmann 5211 work with the CS2? I am planning to digitize my turnouts and the reviews for the Viessmann decoders in this forum were better than the ones for M*. Also, the fact that the Viessmann decoders can be powered by a separate transformer is appealing.
Thanks.

Gautham, they should do. The V5211 is functionally equivalent to the Marklin 60830 K83 decoders.

I use that configuration with a CS1, 5211+5215, quite effective for a small layout.

Frankie,

If you use a separate transformer (e.g., 6646 or 6647) to power the turnouts & 5211's, can the 5211's be connected directly to the transformer or do you need the 5215 between the 5211 and the transformer? Thank you

Dan

Either way, you can power them directly from the transformer, Bigdaddy I believe use this config, or use the 5215 in between for that extra pulse.
Inside the 5215 there is just a relatively big capacitor, that's all.

Yes that is correct Alessandro. I'm using a direct transformer feed with no 5215. Haven't had any issues as yet.
