Has anyone who is familiar with this new model experienced any issues with the two motors working against each other (e.g. not in synch) like the issues with the Ae 8/14 motors? I like this loco due to the older style side rods but am concerned about this possible issue.

I can only imagine one of the motor wires have to be swapped around if the one motor is fighting the other or the mapping has to be tweaked as an incorrect box has been ticked.Confused

Actually I have not yet purchased one of these locomotives, I was just wondering if anyone that has one had encountered a problem with the two drives being out of sync.

There are a few things to check. Install the loco upside down on a foam bed and power it
- if the 2 wheel groups run against each other, then someone has modified the wiring
- if the 2 wheel groups run in the same direction but with different speed then one of the motors is probably faulty (can order at Märklin for 25 to 30 Euros

Cheers
Jean

I have the 2014 double Crocodile set with two motors per loco and I have never seen any problems with them.

As far as I can tell both motors work perfectly in synch without any issues and they run beautifully.
Regards,
Jim

I have almost all Märklin and mostly HO, although I do have a small number of Z gauge trains!
So many trains and so little time.

Thanks for the replies and information from everyone, glad to know this locomotive works correctly with two motors. Guess I will go find one before they are no longer available.
