( The story previously to date is seen here: https://www.marklin-user...ons-June-2023#post662745https://www.marklin-user...ons-June-2023#post662987https://www.marklin-user...rd-the-Giruno#post663356https://www.marklin-user...vel-Surprises#post664157https://www.marklin-user...n-Rail-Travel#post664302https://www.marklin-user...n-Rail-Travel#post665023 ) We departed Hamburg early July for more Scandinavian rail experiences. A morning departure from Hamburg Hbf destination Copenhagen: The land was quite flat : with some innovative engineering to get trains over rivers but with clearance for big ships below : We connected to Fredericia , Denmark, where we changed to a DSB diesel train unit which took us to Copenhagen Main Station. after arriving in Copenhagen we had plenty of time to next find and board our reserved train - a Swedish Railways express to Stockholm Only problem was that a DSB official explained to us that they had not had any Swedish trains depart Copenhagen for Stockholm that day : "...some problem with Swedish Rail ... ". He suggested we take a regional train to Malmo and there connect with our planned Swedish express train. So we quickly jumped on the next regional train to Malmo which was fun, if crowded : We enjoyed traveling again over and under the Oresund Strait by the Oresund Bridge and tunnel. At Malmo we connected with our Swedish express : with a late arrival in Stockholm, where we stayed overnight : Next day an early morning departure from Stockholm : saw us arriving in Oslo in the afternoon. Have fun, PJ Edited by user 01 November 2023 00:00:08(UTC)

I did recall I had seen it before as a photograph in a book I was fond of reading in the 1980's called " Die DB Heute" by George Wagner (pub 1983). On return home I found the photograph in the book : Nor did I recognise at the time that we were going over the Kiel canal : A nice article on the bridge including a cab-ride video over the bridge and approaches, with other videos about the bridge is Here It well shows how we looped back under the approach structures, as seen in the post : PJ

I am surprised that you could see out any window looking at the crowd in that train. I thought you had mixed up some photos from your India trip. |

Hi, My overseas travel experience is not broad. I travelled by train from Århus to Hamburg. And the Rendsburg High Bridge is the most impressive man-made structure I have seen. Having said that, I have not yet visited the Forth railway bridge in Scotland. Kimball |

Kimball Hi Kimball, I hope and trust you are well. Your daughter indeed lives in a lovely city. We visited Arhus in 2016 and whilst we saw the Royal Yacht : we had just missed Princess Mary, who grew up in our Hobart suburb : (just as well, I had no presentation Tim-Tams on me ! ) The Forth Bridge (see here) is undoubtedly one of the engineering masterpieces of the 19th century. I took this image last July, seaward of the bridge : Regards from down south, Philip
