Hello to everyone.I must tell that I'm new to this so hope to understand my questions.I had the chance to get this setup(uploaded picture) with around 20 cars and a lot of rails,two trafo and other things that now will ask.As you can see the scale is "N". 1.Have two trafo.How they must be connect to work together(if it possible of course) I mean with one to give the speed,and with the another to change the directions 2.Can I use these types of loco and car and tracks with these trafo?A friend of mine told me that they are on DC,but the two trafo are AC so they cannot work together? 3.How to hook the two trafo to the main rail(the one wit the terminals)? 4.Is there something specific that I must take a look? 5.On one of the pictures there is a long blue terminal with + and -. I don't now for what is it and how to use it and how to connect it. 6.On other picture is Marklin Rectifier little blue box with brown and yellow wires Again don't know what is it and how to use it how to connect it. I read a lot for these old trafo and the first thing will do it to open them and to replace the wires inside.I can repair pinball machines and arcade cabinets so this is not problem.My professional job is to repair PC and Notebooks. I will appreciate every help that you can give me. <img src=”https://imgur.com/ydWNVCz”>

Hi
The Minitrix lok's are indeed DC The two transformers are AC, so that will not work..... but you have also the "1592 gleichrichter" that changes the AC from the transformer to DC that the lok needs.
Connect the brown wire of the square blue box to the brown terminal on the transformer, the yellow wire to the red terminal. One connection of auto 1 (on blue box) should go to one side of the rail, the other connection of auto 1 to the other side. On the long straight track with the connectors on the side.

Hello dra,
You definitely will not be able to run the Fleischmann or any N scale trains using those Märklin transformers. All N scale items are DC or digital. You would know if the AC current Märklin trafos will damage the DC motors. I do not suppose they will, but I am no expert.
Buy a DC trafo with controller, they are available everywhere (hobby stores, Conrad.de, Amazon etc...) Kimball |
HO Scale - Märklin (ep II-III and VI, C Track, digital) - 2 rail HO (Queensland Australia, UK, USA) - 3 rail OO (English Hornby Dublo) - old clockwork O gauge - Live Steam 90mm (3.1/2 inch) gauge. |

... and I assume you know that these are 220V 'euro' transformers (without ground shielding). Ben |

As all of them are EURO 220v. I found PIKO FZ1,will this work directly connected.It's DC.
Output 1::: 1.7-12V / 1.2A Output 2::: 16V / 1.2A

Yes, that will work direct,
BTW, the long blue strip wit + and - is only a connection box to connect multiple accessories to one power supply

Perfect. Meanwhile until PIKO arrive I did some test on the Marklin trafo. First opened them to see for damages-both are perfect inside.Cables and insulation are fine. The first one with "directions" symbol is fine-when I rotate it change the value of the voltage. The second one is strange for me or something not right.I made a video for better explanation. On both sides when on 0 km value show 9v,sometimes it show 12v sometimes 14v. But when I rotate the knob as you can see mostly 0v.I thin it must work like the one with the "direction" symbol-when I'm at the middle at least to show 8v. The winding of the trafo is too dirty where the knob make contact.I cleaned the knob contact but don't now if it possible or safety and how to clean the winding. The video: Marklin trafoP.S. Fixed-of course the main power cord.Changed with brand new and now it work like it must. My question for PIKO. What to test to see if it work fine.I can see two double outputs: BAHN and ZUBEHUR and the red buttons.

PIKO arrived,tested and connected.All fine and the locos are working. What type of these old bulbs I can use to replace the missing one under the red circles? What voltages are they?I have a lot of old bulbs.
