7011 is the code for catenary masts that fit metal bridges. They have a tongue that slides into a slot in the bridge and the mast on an adjustable slide. These days they would appear to be seriously expensive, well the few I can find are.

Has anyone made a substitute? I'd like to keep my metal bridges, after all the rust effect on them is genuine rust!

Same here. Hard to find masts + holders for vintage metal bridges. What's an alternative construction (or brand)?
Ben

Update: Saw this clever solution, turning 7009 base around and trim end hook. Looks like one could do this even nicer with thin metal strip.

I decided to create my own 7011 mast, using thin sheets of metal (from window blind) with a drilled hole for old style mast crews. I removed the original bottom stand of a mast and replaced with metal strip. I use double strip to create more grip. Catenary lengths match the separation of ramp slits, so no need for adjustable positioning.
