Roco introduced in their 2023 Neuheiten an NS Dutch Railroad 2200 diesel. It is article 52934. But they also released in recent years the 2200 Diesel loc under 55903. The latter one has MFX, but the new one is referencing it as a radioloc. Can someone explain to me the difference between the two? I like to order one or the other, but it’s not clear to me what the difference is (besides the road number). But there is a decent gap in cost. Even that both have sound. Anyone here to explain the difference? Thanks, Marcel Edited by user 28 January 2023 21:55:18(UTC)

The new one is defined as a radioloc. I assume that those were the ones that could be controlled without an engineer on board. But those have numbers above the 2350 while the pic show a 2268. Hence my confusion. The older one is MFX and the newer one doesn’t mention that so maybe that’s the price difference.

I thin new Zimo/Roco sound decoders are mfx, like ESU are. Look at the Roco new items descriptions to see of they list the decoder in the model, then research that decoder on the Zimo decoder manual site.

What's confusing for me anyway about the remote control description is that every model is. The prototype has no human driver.

For the first Piko 2200 models they used ESU decoders. Now they are using their own brand decoders (bad choice, ESU is way better). Maybe that explains costs difference? For all Piko 2200 models see my website: http://www.nlinmodel.nl/piko/2200_2300 (in Dutch) |
