Hi
I have a Marklin Ae 8/14 SBB 11801.I'm tying to find out which catalog nr the loco have.
I found a number under the train :M 7194194.Cant find anything on internet-The train is running but no lights,Maybe a delta decoder?When reading the decoder,it fails on my cs3.

Hi! Looks like you found the serial number. Initial letter M indicates Delta decoder. Intensity of lights varies with the speed. Run full speed for bright lights. 33591 has three pantographs, 33593 has two pantographs. Edit: Swapped two digits in the ref. numbers. Edited by user 30 November 2022 17:29:38(UTC)

An M in front of the number means it a locomotive with a Delta decoder (as opposed to H with a 6090 or more recent decoder).
The CS3 will not "read" or register a Delta decoder (or any decoder with dip switches to set the locomotive address). You will have to search for the number 33751 in the list on your CS3. Please refer to the manual.
Furthermore, the lights of locomotives with a Delta decoder will only light up when the locomotive starts running, as far as I know.

That varies with the decoder. Some the brightness varies with speed on digital, others are constant brightness on digital.

The model made by Maerklin corresponds only to 11801. Roco has made models of 11852 (Landilok) and the updated 11851 with the Ae 6/6 cabs. The first three models listed on HFKern are Delta. We can eliminate 33592 because it was painted silver. You will be able to determine which model your's is by how many pantographs it is equipped with At first when you said that no lights come on, I was trying to figure out if any of the models had the 6080 decoder, because that decoder often had lights that only worked in digital operation. The Delta and 6090 and 6090X decoder models should have lights in analog operation which depend on the speed selected. Regards Mike C
